So this weekend the DH and I had the honor of attending the River's Edge Film Festival here in Paducah. One of the best movies we saw was The Northern Kingdom. The director/producer and actress of the movie was Dorothy Lyman, formerly known as Naomi from Mama's Family. After the screening of the movie she spoke about her movie and the process of making it. It was really neat to see her in that role and to see her as a filmaker instead of actor. It was very good and if it ever comes to DVD I suggest renting it.
Another stand out of the festival was Commit. It ended up winning the "Best of Festival" award and for good reason. The film was shot in 3 chapters, each 30 minutes long. Each chapter was done in ONE take. No do-overs and no editing. It was outstanding and the acting was just phenomenol.
So the weekend was a hectic, crazy one, but SO much fun as well. I've never seen so many movies over a weekend in my life. I can't wait for next year!
