Shepard's Pie

This is a family favorite here. My version is super easy to make (espically if you have pre-cooked your hamburger meat).

Shepard's Pie

1 1/2 pds ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
2tsp garlic chopped
2 carrots diced
2 handfuls of frozen green peas
2 envelopes brown gravy mix
2c water

*Cook the beef, onion, garlic, carrot together until veggies are soft and meat is cooked. Add the peas, gravy mix and water and cook until it thickens. Dump it all into a 9x13 pan and spread it out.

Make up your favorite batch of mashed potatoes. I usually end up needing between 4-5c of them. Spread them on top of the meat mixture. You can also top it with shredded cheddar if you wish, but I don't.

Place the pan in a 350 oven and cook until the mashed potatoes are slightly browned. 10-15 minutes.

It's really yummy with some fresh bread and green beans on the side.
